Relationships that carry learning forward

At a lunch meeting with the Global Health team, participants learned about the team's global health work and introduced Lifeline Beyond Borders' purpose and vision.

LBB values building connections across countries and organizations alongside learning from knowledge and experience. This exchange broadened perspectives on international nursing and global health, while creating opportunities for future connections and collaboration.

What stayed with participants

Themes from three participants’ written evaluations show how practical experiences prompted new questions about nursing, leadership, and learning.

Disaster readiness made tangible

Participants highlighted evacuation, triage, and decontamination exercises. The experience prompted reflection on protecting healthcare teams and adapting disaster training to settings in Japan.

A stronger focus on why

Participants described a desire to strengthen assessment and clinical reasoning, ask questions when something is unclear, and better understand the rationale behind care decisions.

Leadership that fits the situation

One participant reflected on moving beyond a fixed idea of leadership, adapting to the team’s needs, and beginning change through their own learning and actions.
